Sensitive skin and razor bumps

A close shave can leave a hair tip pointing into nearby skin as it grows, causing an itchy or tender raised bump. Repeated passes, a dull blade, dry shaving, tight clothing and fragranced aftershave can add irritation. Pause shaving over active bumps and use a cool, clean compress for comfort. When the skin settles, soften hair with warm water, use a bland shaving gel and shave in the direction of growth with light strokes. Rinse the blade often and avoid stretching the skin or repeatedly passing over one spot. Do not pick or squeeze bumps. Use a clean, sharp razor and loose clothing afterward.
