What ringworm looks like: what to know

On lighter skin, ringworm may look pink or red; on darker skin, it may look brown, grey, violet, or darker than nearby skin. The border can be raised, dry, or more scaly than the centre, and the patch may form an incomplete or circular shape. It can itch or burn, but symptoms differ between people. The centre may look calmer while the outer edge advances.
