How to reduce frown lines

Short answer
Frown lines may be softened by sun protection and skincare, while clinician-administered treatments can target muscle movement or selected volume loss.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What creates frown lines
Frown lines, also called glabellar lines or elevens, form between the eyebrows when the muscles contract during concentration, squinting, or strong emotion. Repeated folding can leave grooves visible even when the face is relaxed. Sun exposure and reduced skin elasticity can make them more apparent.
They are a type of wrinkle rather than a sign that someone is angry or unwell. A new crease with redness, scale, pain, or a lump should be assessed separately.
Approaches to consider
Use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a gentle moisturiser; avoid rubbing the area and treat irritation promptly. Skincare may improve surface dryness but cannot fully prevent normal facial movement.
Botox is designed to reduce activity in selected muscles and may suit movement-related frown lines. Dermal fillers work by adding volume and are not appropriate for every area or person. A licensed practitioner should assess anatomy and discuss risks, alternatives, and the possibility of temporary effects.
When to seek care
Arrange an examination if the area becomes painful, swollen, crusted, bleeding, persistently itchy, or changes quickly. Seek urgent care for sudden facial weakness, drooping, severe headache, or visual disturbance.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether movement or skin texture is the main contributor, whether Botox or a filler is appropriate, how facial expression may change, and which symptoms after treatment would need prompt review.

Questions people ask
Can frown lines be prevented completely?
No approach can prevent every line, but sun protection and avoiding chronic irritation may reduce added skin damage.
Will Botox remove every frown line?
It may soften movement-related lines; lines present at rest can respond differently and need individual assessment.
