Arrange a prompt dermatology review if recession is rapid, patchy, painful, itchy, scaly, or associated with redness, pustules, eyebrow thinning, or smooth shiny skin. Seek care sooner when a tight hairstyle causes tenderness or broken hairs, because ongoing traction may worsen damage.
