What should you know about Radiesse lip filler?

The lips move constantly and contain delicate, highly visible tissue. Radiesse can provide structure in selected facial areas, but direct placement in the lips may create unwanted firmness, lumps or an unnatural feel. A clinician may instead discuss a softer hyaluronic acid filler when the goal is adjustable lip volume or border definition.

A consultation should separate the goal of more projection from goals such as improving lines around the mouth, supporting nearby tissue or balancing facial proportions. Your natural lip shape, movement, dental history and previous filler all affect the plan.

Tell the injector about medicines, allergies, cold sores, active rashes, dental procedures and any previous filler. Ask whether the proposed material is intended for the exact lip area and what can be done if the result is uneven. Avoid treatment during an active infection or unexplained swelling.

After an injection, use only the care measures recommended by the clinic. Avoid squeezing the lips, applying unapproved products, strenuous exercise and intense heat while swelling is present. Arrange review if firmness or asymmetry persists.

Call the clinic for increasing pain, spreading redness, warmth, discharge, fever or a worsening firm nodule. Seek urgent care for vision changes, severe headache, facial weakness, trouble speaking, or pale, grey or dusky skin after injection.
