What should you know about psoriasis dry cracked feet fungus?

Psoriasis can create thick scale, redness and fissures on the soles or around the heels. Athlete's foot, a fungal infection, may cause peeling, itching, scaling or cracking, often between the toes or across the sole. Friction, moisture, eczema and unsuitable footwear can also damage the skin.

The conditions can look alike, and a person can have psoriasis and a fungal infection at the same time. Scratching and open cracks can allow bacteria to enter, increasing soreness and inflammation.

Keep feet clean and dry, dry carefully between the toes, change damp socks, and use a bland moisturiser on thick dry areas while avoiding application between moist toes. Do not share towels or footwear, and avoid peeling away scale.
