What should you know about prescription antiperspirant Drysol?

Drysol is applied to the skin rather than taken by mouth. Aluminium chloride forms a temporary blockage at sweat duct openings, so less sweat reaches the surface. It may be considered for the underarms, hands, feet, or another area affected by excessive sweating. It does not work like a fragrance deodorant, although reducing moisture may also help with body odour.

Use it exactly as prescribed. Apply to completely dry, unbroken skin, commonly at night when sweating is lower, and wash the area as directed the next morning. Do not apply immediately after shaving, to irritated skin, or near the eyes. Stinging, redness, itching, or peeling can occur; tell your prescriber if these symptoms persist so the routine or strength can be reviewed.
