What should you know about placental abruption rigid abdomen?

When the placenta separates, blood and irritation near the womb can trigger painful contractions and make the womb feel tense, firm, or tender. The firmness may persist between contractions rather than easing fully. Some bleeding may stay behind the placenta, so a rigid abdomen can be present without much vaginal blood.
