How to understand PET scan information in Polish

A PET-CT uses a small amount of radiotracer to show tissue activity and CT images to show anatomy. A healthcare professional gives the tracer through a vein, you rest while it travels through the body, and then you lie still for imaging. The scan can support assessment of a known cancer or an unexplained finding, but a highlighted area does not automatically identify its cause. The report is interpreted with your symptoms, examination, blood tests, treatment history, and other images. Ask whether written instructions or a qualified interpreter is available; do not rely on a family member for complex medical translation when professional support can be arranged.

When booking, say that you need Polish-language support and ask how it will be provided. Confirm instructions about fasting, drinking, medicines, diabetes, pregnancy, and breastfeeding in a language you understand. Bring your medicine list and earlier reports if requested. Ask for immediate assistance during the visit if you feel faint, have trouble breathing, or develop facial swelling or widespread hives. After the injection, contact the service about increasing redness, warmth, swelling, drainage, or severe pain at the site.
