Perioral dermatitis on the jawline: what to know

The jawline may be affected when facial inflammation extends away from the mouth. Perioral dermatitis often produces small, closely grouped bumps with redness, dryness, burning, or sensitivity. Acne more often includes blackheads, whiteheads, or deeper tender spots, although overlap is possible and appearance alone cannot confirm either diagnosis.
