Insulated or non-insulated needles enter the skin to a planned depth and deliver radiofrequency energy beneath the surface. The controlled injury can stimulate wound-healing responses and may be used for texture, acne scarring, fine lines, or selected laxity concerns. Depth, energy, skin type, treatment area, and the operator’s technique affect both the intended response and the risk of burns or pigment change.

Have the clinician review active acne, eczema, infection, cold sores, keloid tendency, pigmentation history, medicines, and recent tanning. Ask who will operate the device, which tips are sterile, and what energy and depth are planned. After treatment, follow the supplied cleansing and sun-protection instructions; avoid picking crusts and pause irritating products until the skin barrier has recovered.

Contact the clinic for increasing redness, heat, swelling, pus, blistering, severe pain, or a spreading rash. Prompt review is especially important if the treated area develops a sharp colour change or numbness that is worsening. Fever, facial swelling affecting breathing, or eye symptoms require urgent medical help.
