The implant releases a progestogen that can alter the uterine lining and ovulation. Some people have no bleeding, while others notice spotting or irregular bleeding. A change soon after insertion can therefore be related to the implant rather than a problem with the uterus.

Check that you can feel the implant where your clinician placed it, unless you were told not to.
