What should you know about night sweats during period?

Short answer
Night sweats during a period can reflect hormonal temperature changes, but symptoms outside the cycle or with illness need review.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Why timing matters
Hormone levels change through the menstrual cycle and can influence temperature regulation, sleep and mood. Heat, stress, alcohol, medicines or an infection may overlap with the same days, so timing alone does not prove that menstruation is the cause. Menopause can produce hot flushes and night sweating, particularly when periods are changing or becoming irregular. Hyperthyroidism may cause sweating with palpitations, tremor or heat intolerance. Fever, swollen glands or persistent tiredness can occur with infections such as brucellosis, glandular fever or HIV infection.
Track and reduce triggers
For several cycles, note the first day of bleeding, sweating episodes, sleep quality, pain, flow, medicines and any fever. Keep the room cool, wear breathable sleepwear and change damp bedding. Discuss troublesome symptoms with a pharmacist or clinician before trying hormonal or non-prescribed treatments. If episodes happen only around bleeding and settle afterwards, share that pattern at a routine appointment; if they occur throughout the month, mention that too.
When to get checked
Arrange medical advice when sweats are new, severe, recurrent, unrelated to the cycle or accompanied by weight change, fever, swollen glands, persistent cough or unusual fatigue. Seek urgent care for very heavy bleeding with dizziness or fainting, severe pelvic pain, confusion, chest pain or difficulty breathing. New sweating after a possible pregnancy should also be discussed with a clinician, especially if pain or bleeding is unusual.
Questions worth asking
Could cycle hormones explain this timing? Should my thyroid, medicines or infection risk be reviewed? Which bleeding or pain changes require urgent help?
