Natural Remedies for Yeast Diaper Rash

Yeast can grow in warm, damp, enclosed skin folds. The rash may be bright red, involve the creases and have small spots near its edge, but appearance alone cannot confirm the cause. Irritant dermatitis, allergy and bacterial infection can look similar. Change nappies promptly, rinse gently with lukewarm water or use a fragrance-free cleanser, pat rather than rub, and allow short periods of air exposure. Apply a plain protective barrier if advised. Avoid talcum powder, essential oils, vinegar, toothpaste, steroid creams without medical advice and fragranced wipes; these can irritate or trap moisture. Do not share creams between children.
