Exosomes are very small membrane-bound vesicles released by cells. MSC-derived exosomes refers to vesicles obtained from mesenchymal stromal or stem-cell-related cultures, rather than whole living cells. They may contain proteins and other signalling molecules, but the contents can vary with the source cells, culture process, purification, storage, and formulation. A label alone does not tell you whether a product is sterile, authorised for a particular use, or suitable for injection, microneedling, or application to the skin.

Ask the provider to identify the source, manufacturing controls, intended route, storage conditions, and regulatory status for the exact product. Clarify whether the plan involves injection, a procedure that opens the skin, or topical application, and who will perform it. Discuss allergies, active acne or eczema, infection, pregnancy, immune conditions, and medicines that affect healing. Avoid products with unclear labelling or promises of tissue repair without a clear explanation of benefits, alternatives, and possible harms. Exosomes are not interchangeable across products.
