Microneedling for a tummy-tuck scar: what to know

A tummy-tuck scar may be flat, raised, indented, firm, darker, lighter, or widened. Microneedling creates controlled openings that can encourage remodelling in selected mature scars, so the aim is usually improved texture and blending rather than erasing the line. A scar that is still open, crusted, draining, tender, or changing needs surgical or medical assessment first.
