The pen’s needle cartridge moves vertically as the clinician treats selected areas, allowing the depth and pattern to be adjusted for the site and concern. The punctures trigger a repair response that can gradually improve the appearance of texture, fine lines, acne scarring, and some stretch marks. It is not the same as rubbing a roller across the face, and a home device cannot reproduce the hygiene, assessment, or settings of professional care. Results develop gradually as the skin remodels.

Tell the clinician about active rashes, infection, acne flare, cold sores, keloid scars, recent sun exposure, allergies, and medicines that affect healing or bleeding. Follow instructions about retinoids, exfoliating acids, and shaving. After the session, keep the area clean, apply only advised products, and avoid picking, vigorous exercise, swimming, heat, and direct sun until the skin has settled. Do not share or reuse needle cartridges. A sterile cartridge and a clean treatment environment are essential.

Ask the treating clinic for advice if redness, swelling, burning, or tenderness is worsening instead of easing. Prompt assessment is needed for pus, spreading warmth, fever, blisters, severe pain, or a rash that extends beyond the treated area. Breathing trouble or sudden swelling of the lips or face requires urgent medical help. Persistent darkening or lightening also deserves review, particularly if you have previously developed pigment changes after irritation.
