The term mesotherapy can describe injections placed into the skin, but mixtures and intended uses vary. Fat-dissolving injections are designed for a localised pocket of fat rather than general weight loss. Treatment may cause swelling, bruising, soreness, numbness, firmness, or temporary unevenness. An unsuitable site, inaccurate placement, or an unverified product can cause tissue injury, infection, scarring, or nerve-related problems. The face, neck, and body do not have identical anatomy or treatment considerations.
