What should you know about a MedRx video otoscope?

The instrument has a small camera and light at its tip. A clinician guides it near the opening of the ear, then views the image on a screen. This can make features such as wax, irritation, fluid, discharge, swelling, or changes to the eardrum easier to inspect and explain. The image supports an examination; it does not by itself provide a diagnosis.

Keep still while the ear is examined, especially when the device is being used with a child.
