Mediplast for warts

The medicated plaster is placed over a wart so salicylic acid can soften the thickened surface. As directed, softened tissue can be gently removed, allowing treatment to reach the remaining wart. This process takes repeated applications and can irritate healthy skin if the plaster extends beyond the wart.

Not every rough spot is a wart. A changing, bleeding, painful, dark, or uncertain lesion should be examined rather than treated at home. People with diabetes, poor circulation, reduced sensation, or a weakened immune system should obtain medical advice before using a medicated plaster.

Follow the package or clinician instructions for cutting, placement, changing, and treatment duration. Wash and dry the area first, keep the plaster on the wart rather than normal skin, and wash your hands afterward. Do not cut, burn, or share tools used around the lesion.

Stop if surrounding skin becomes raw, increasingly painful, or inflamed. Keep the area protected from friction. If home treatment is unsuitable or the wart persists, a clinician can discuss options such as cryotherapy, electrosurgery, imiquimod treatment, or wart removal.

Arrange an assessment if the diagnosis is unclear, the lesion changes, bleeds, spreads widely, or interferes with walking or daily activity. Seek prompt care for pus, spreading redness, increasing warmth, severe pain, or fever after the skin becomes damaged.
