What should you know about madarosis symptoms?

Madarosis may affect one small area, the outer ends of the eyebrows, both eyebrows, the eyelashes, or several sites. Hair can shed suddenly or thin gradually. Look for smooth skin, scaling, redness, itching, broken hairs, scarring, or loss of the tiny openings where hairs grow. Causes include repeated rubbing or pulling, skin inflammation, nutritional or hormonal problems, medicines, and hair-loss conditions.
