What should you know about lymphoma treatment?

Lymphoma is a group of cancers affecting lymphocytes, so treatment is not one standard plan. Your team may use a PET-CT Scan to map active disease and assess how it responds. Options can include Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Radiotherapy, targeted medicines, or combinations. Some people with relapsed or difficult-to-treat disease may be considered for CAR T-Cell Therapy or an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant. The aim may be to remove detectable disease, control it for a long time, or ease symptoms, depending on the lymphoma subtype and situation.

Take your pathology and scan results to the consultation and ask which lymphoma subtype has been identified. Discuss the intended benefit, treatment schedule, likely effects on blood counts, infection precautions, fertility, work and daily activities.
