What should you know about lump on anterior portion of neck?

The anterior neck contains the thyroid gland, windpipe, voice box, muscles, skin, and lymph nodes. Thyroid swelling may be felt low or centrally and can move during swallowing, but movement is not enough to identify its cause. Lymph nodes may enlarge after throat, ear, dental, or skin infections.
