Lump in neck on the left near the collarbone

This area contains lymph nodes, blood vessels, muscles, and tissues that connect with the chest. A nearby infection can make a lymph node tender or enlarged. Other causes include a cyst or a condition involving the thyroid or surrounding tissues. A lump in this region can be a presentation of lymphoma, head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer, or cancer of unknown primary, but the location does not diagnose cancer.
