Lump behind the neck hairline: what to know

The hairline contains skin, small glands, muscles, and lymph nodes that can become noticeable. A blocked skin structure may feel like a rounded, superficial bump; irritation, an insect bite, or infection of the scalp can also make nearby lymph nodes enlarge.
