Short answer

Loss of appetite with fatigue and sweating can accompany infection, medication effects, stress, or other illness, so the full pattern and duration need assessment.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the combination may reflect

Sweating may occur with fever, a warm environment, anxiety, hormonal changes, or low blood sugar. Fatigue can follow poor sleep, dehydration, reduced food intake, or infection. Together with appetite loss, these symptoms can occur with influenza, COVID-19, or gastroenteritis, especially when fever, cough, sore throat, vomiting, or diarrhoea is present.

Night sweats, persistent fever, worsening weakness, abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin, or unexplained weight change should not be dismissed as stress. Symptoms alone cannot identify one cause.

What to do now

Rest, drink regularly, and try small meals or snacks containing carbohydrates and protein. Check your temperature when you feel sweaty and note whether sweating happens during sleep or with activity. List new medicines, supplements, recent travel, sick contacts, and associated symptoms for a clinician.

Avoid strenuous activity while dizzy or weak. Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice. A clinician may examine you and decide whether blood or other tests are appropriate based on the pattern.

When to seek care

Seek urgent care for chest pain, trouble breathing, fainting, confusion, severe weakness, severe abdominal pain, black or bloody stools, or inability to keep fluids down. Arrange prompt review for drenching night sweats, persistent fever, yellow skin, or symptoms that are worsening or not settling.

Questions for your doctor

Ask whether the timing suggests infection, a medicine effect, dehydration, blood sugar changes, or another problem. Bring your temperature record and describe sweating at night, appetite changes, sleep, bowel symptoms, pain, and any weight change.

Questions people ask

Does sweating with fatigue always mean an infection?

No. Sweating can also relate to the environment, anxiety, hormonal changes, medicines, or low blood sugar. Other symptoms and examination help clarify the cause.

When should I seek help for these symptoms?

Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, confusion, fainting, severe weakness, or inability to keep fluids down, and arrange prompt review for persistent or worsening symptoms.
