What should you know about little blisters on hands and feet?

Dyshidrotic eczema commonly presents with tiny fluid-filled blisters along the sides of fingers, palms, or soles. The skin may feel intensely itchy, tight, or sore before it dries and flakes. Sweating, wet work, stress, metal exposure, or irritants may coincide with flares, although a trigger is not always clear.

The pattern can overlap with other causes of Skin Blisters. Note whether the eruption is on both hands or feet, whether there is scaling between toes, and whether the fluid is clear or cloudy. Recurrent episodes deserve a clinical look so the diagnosis is not based on appearance alone.

Keep the area cool and dry, wash with lukewarm water, and use a fragrance-free moisturiser after washing. Wear protective gloves with a soft cotton layer for wet or chemical work, and do not deliberately pop the blisters. Book an assessment when blisters keep returning, interfere with walking or hand use, crack and bleed, or fail to improve with skin protection. Seek prompt care if redness spreads, the area becomes hot and increasingly painful, drainage becomes cloudy, or fever develops. Sudden widespread blistering or sores involving the mouth or eyes needs urgent medical attention.
