Linsay microdermabrasion and pore cleaner device

Microdermabrasion uses a textured tip or fine abrasive surface to lift some dead surface cells. A pore-cleaning device may also apply suction, which can temporarily remove surface oil and loosen debris. It does not remove every plug from a pore or change the size of pores. Active acne, eczema, rosacea, sunburn or broken skin can react badly to mechanical friction and suction.

Read the device instructions, start with the gentlest setting and keep the tip moving rather than concentrating on one spot. Use it on clean, dry skin only when the skin barrier is intact. Do not share the tip, and clean it exactly as directed. Moisturise afterwards and use sun protection because freshly exfoliated skin can be more sensitive. Pause exfoliating acids, scrubs or retinoids if the area becomes stinging or inflamed. A professional may suggest a chemical peel or another approach when texture, acne or pigmentation is the main concern.

Stop using the device and seek medical advice if redness spreads, pain worsens, blisters form, the skin breaks, or swelling does not settle. A dermatologist should assess persistent acne, facial flushing, a rash or darkening after irritation before further exfoliation. Urgent care is appropriate for facial swelling with breathing difficulty or signs of a serious allergic reaction.

Ask whether your skin condition is suitable for abrasion or suction, how often to use the device, and which products to avoid around treatment. Clarify how to clean attachments and what degree of redness is expected afterward.
