What should you know about lichen planus arm?

On the arm, lichen planus can appear as clusters of small, firm, flat-topped bumps with a red, violet or brown tone. Itching is common, and scratching can thicken the surface or leave darker marks after inflammation settles. The rash may be concentrated near the wrists or extend along the forearms. Similar-looking bumps can result from eczema, contact irritation, insect bites or other conditions, so photographs and appearance alone cannot confirm the cause. Arrange an assessment if the rash is new, spreading, very itchy, or not improving. Until then, wash gently, moisturise after bathing, avoid picking, and protect the area from friction.
