Letrozole changes how the body makes oestrogen. Because of that action, some people notice symptoms such as hot flushes, sweating, joint or muscle discomfort, tiredness, headache, nausea, or vaginal dryness. A symptom may also come from another condition or medicine, so do not assume the cause from timing alone.

Write down the symptom, when it began, how long it lasts, what makes it better or worse, and whether it affects sleep, movement, eating, or daily tasks. This gives your team useful information for deciding what support is suitable.

Take letrozole exactly as prescribed unless your oncology team tells you otherwise. Discuss troublesome symptoms early; your clinician may suggest activity changes, hydration, symptom treatment, tests, or a review of other medicines. Never add supplements or pain medicines without checking for interactions.

For joint stiffness, gentle movement and planned rest may help. For hot flushes, breathable clothing and a cooler sleeping environment can be useful. These measures are general options, not a substitute for an assessment when symptoms are new or worsening.

Get urgent help for chest pain, severe breathlessness, fainting, sudden weakness, severe headache with confusion, facial swelling, trouble breathing, or a widespread blistering or peeling rash. Contact your oncology team promptly for persistent vomiting, inability to drink, or symptoms that rapidly worsen.
