What should you know about laser treatment for cherry angiomas?

A cherry angioma is a small collection of blood vessels that often appears as a red, purple, or bright cherry-coloured spot. A vascular laser delivers energy to blood in those vessels, allowing the body to clear the treated vessels over time. The spot may look darker, swollen, or crusted before it settles.

Not every changing red mark is a cherry angioma. A spot that bleeds without rubbing, grows quickly, develops an irregular surface, or looks different from your other marks needs examination before any cosmetic procedure.
