What should you know about laser thread lift?

A conventional thread lift places temporary, dissolvable material beneath the skin through small entry points. The threads can provide an immediate lifting effect and support tissue while the body forms collagen around them. Polydioxanone thread is one material used in some procedures. A laser procedure, by contrast, delivers light energy to selected skin layers and does not insert threads.

Some clinics use informal wording for combined or energy-assisted treatments. Ask for the exact device, the thread material, the depth of placement, and the clinician’s credentials. Thread lifting may improve selected areas of sagging skin, but it does not reproduce the changes of a surgical facelift and is not appropriate for every degree of laxity.

Before treatment, disclose bleeding disorders, medicines and supplements, allergies, active skin infection, dental work planned nearby, and previous facial procedures. A clinician should examine facial movement, skin quality, asymmetry, and your goals. Follow instructions about cleansing, pressure, exercise, sleeping position, and facial movement during recovery.

Contact the clinic promptly for increasing redness, warmth, drainage, severe pain, a thread becoming visible, marked asymmetry, or difficulty opening the mouth. Urgent assessment is needed for breathing difficulty, facial weakness, rapidly increasing swelling, or a sudden change in vision.
