The wavelength does not by itself define the treatment outcome: the handpiece, pulse pattern, energy, cooling, number of passes, and treated area all matter. It is different from the diode systems commonly discussed for hair reduction, which use other treatment parameters.

Ask the provider what concern the 1450 nm device is intended to address and whether another approach is more suitable. Mention recent tanning, active rash, medicines that increase light sensitivity, cold sores, and previous reactions to energy treatments. During treatment, you may feel warmth, snapping, or stinging. Afterwards, redness, swelling, tenderness, or temporary bumps can occur. Use the recommended gentle skincare and sun protection, and wait before restarting irritating products or exposing the area to intense heat.
