What should you know about large pores under the eyes?

The skin around the eyes is thin and can show small follicles, dehydration lines and changes in light more clearly than nearby skin. Oil, makeup residue or rubbing may make the surface look rough. Sun exposure can contribute to fine lines and loss of firmness. Tiny bumps are not always enlarged pores; they may represent milia, irritation, acne-related congestion or another condition that needs a closer look.

Remove makeup without rubbing, cleanse with a mild product and apply a fragrance-free moisturiser suited to the eye area. Use sun protection around, but not inside, the eyes and wear sunglasses outdoors. Do not squeeze bumps or apply strong acids, scrubs or retinoids close to the lash margin unless a clinician has advised it.
