An earlobe keloid is a firm, raised area that extends beyond the piercing or wound rather than staying within it. It may be smooth or lobulated and can feel itchy, tender, tight, or sensitive. A piercing bump, infection, cyst, or hypertrophic scar can have a different cause, so do not pierce, drain, or cut the lump to test it. Examination is especially useful when the diagnosis is uncertain or the growth continues.
