Is acne scar laser treatment done with fractional laser?

A fractional laser treats microscopic columns of skin while leaving surrounding areas intact. The untreated skin can help the treated surface repair, while controlled heat may stimulate collagen remodelling. Fractional devices can be ablative or non-ablative, so recovery and results differ. They may improve texture and selected depressed scars, but they cannot correct every scar shape. Rolling scars, narrow ice-pick scars, raised scars, and active acne may call for other procedures or a combined plan. Temporary redness, swelling, sensitivity, dryness, and pigment changes are possible.

Urgent care is needed for facial swelling with breathing difficulty. Report persistent darkening, light patches, or a rash so the clinician can check for irritation, infection, or a pigment response. Do not apply unapproved products to a healing area.

Ask how many visits may be considered, what recovery usually involves, and how your skin tone affects pigment risk.
