IPL for Red Spots: What to Know

“Red spots” can describe many findings, including post-inflammatory marks, visible small vessels, irritation, or active bumps. IPL may interact with pigment or blood vessels, so treating before identifying the cause can irritate active disease.

Take note of where the spots occur, whether they itch or hurt, and whether they fade with pressure, follow hair removal, or come with pus or scaling. Pause tanning and avoid picking. A clinician can decide whether medical treatment should come first or whether a light-based option is reasonable.
