What should you know about internal stye treatment?

Warmth can soften material in a blocked eyelid gland and encourage natural drainage. An internal stye may cause a painful, swollen eyelid, tenderness with blinking, or a gritty feeling. Red Eye and Eye Discharge can accompany eyelid inflammation, but they can also signal another problem.

A clinician may examine the eyelid and eye surface to confirm the diagnosis. If infection has spread or the lump does not settle, prescribed treatment or a small procedure may be considered. Do not use leftover eye drops or someone else’s medicine.
