Innovo fingertip pulse oximeter: what to know

The clip uses light passing through a fingertip to estimate oxygen saturation and pulse rate. It does not diagnose the reason for breathlessness or replace an examination. Cold fingers, movement, poor circulation, nail products, or an insecure fit can make the display unreliable. A single unexpected value should be repeated carefully rather than treated as a diagnosis.

Rest quietly, warm your hand, and remove nail polish if it interferes with the sensor. Place the device on a clean finger as directed, keep the hand still, and wait for the display to settle. Record the result with the time and your symptoms if monitoring at home. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and batteries, and do not share the device without cleaning it.

Call for urgent medical help if you have severe breathlessness, blue or grey lips, chest pain, confusion, fainting, or rapidly worsening symptoms, regardless of the display.
