Ingrown Hair Armpit Home Remedies

An ingrown hair occurs when a cut hair curls back into nearby skin instead of growing outward. The armpit is prone to friction, sweat and repeated hair removal, so a tender red bump may form around a follicle. It can resemble folliculitis or razor bumps, and a clinician may need to distinguish these from other lumps.

Hold a clean warm, damp cloth against the bump for several minutes, then pat the skin dry. Wash gently and wear a loose top to reduce rubbing.
