A single scan or symptom does not always answer every question immediately.

The choice depends on bleeding, infection risk, ultrasound findings, your health and your preference. Use pads rather than tampons while bleeding, rest as needed, and follow instructions about pain relief and follow-up.

Seek urgent medical help for heavy bleeding, fainting, severe or worsening pain, fever, foul-smelling discharge, or feeling very unwell. One-sided pain, shoulder-tip pain or collapse during early pregnancy needs immediate assessment because an ectopic pregnancy can be dangerous.

Ask how the diagnosis was confirmed, what to expect from bleeding and pain, which management options suit you, and when follow-up is needed. Discuss Rh status if relevant, emotional support and when it is medically reasonable to try for pregnancy again.
