What should you know about stage IIIA lung cancer?

Stage IIIA is a label from staging, not a complete description of an individual person's outlook. It is based on the size and position of the lung tumour, nearby lymph nodes, and whether cancer has spread beyond the chest. Imaging, a biopsy, and sometimes procedures to sample lymph nodes help the team assign the stage.

A multidisciplinary team may consider surgery, drug treatment, radiotherapy, or combinations.
