How quickly does the combined pill relieve irregular periods?

The hormones in the pill prevent ovulation and keep the womb lining thinner. Bleeding usually happens during the hormone-free interval or with inactive tablets, so it can become easier to anticipate. Spotting or a change in flow may happen while your body adjusts, and an irregular pattern may have another cause that the pill does not address.

The pill is not suitable for everyone. A clinician may consider migraine with aura, clot history, blood pressure, smoking, and other medicines before prescribing it.

Take each active tablet as directed and follow the instructions for missed tablets, vomiting, or diarrhoea. Record bleeding days, spotting, pain, and missed doses for your review.
