How long does salpingectomy take to work for hydrosalpinx?

Hydrosalpinx is a fallopian tube that has become filled with fluid. During salpingectomy, the affected tube is removed, so the hydrosalpinx itself is dealt with during the procedure. The operation does not immediately heal abdominal tissues; tenderness, fatigue and limited movement can remain while the body recovers.

The effect on fertility depends on the condition of the other tube, the ovaries, sperm factors and whether assisted conception is being considered. Removing one tube does not remove the ovaries or stop menstrual periods.

Use the prescribed pain relief, protect the incision as instructed and increase activity gradually. Avoid heavy lifting until your surgical team says it is suitable. Keep the follow-up appointment so healing can be checked and fertility plans can be discussed with the right information.
