How is prostatitis treated?

Prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate. Some cases are linked to a Urinary Tract Infection, while others cause ongoing pelvic or urinary symptoms without a clear bacterial cause. A clinician may also recommend pain relief, fluids, warm baths, and reducing activities that worsen pelvic discomfort. Persistent non-bacterial symptoms may need a urology assessment and a plan addressing bladder, pelvic-floor, or pain factors rather than repeated antibiotics.
