How effective is targeted therapy for non-hodgkin lymphoma?

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a group of diseases rather than one condition. Some targeted medicines attach to a marker on lymphoma cells or interrupt a pathway that helps them survive. The correct choice depends on the lymphoma subtype, biopsy findings, molecular results, areas involved and whether treatment is being given initially or after relapse. Doctors assess response with examination, blood tests and imaging. Shrinking disease, fewer symptoms or sustained stability may all be meaningful outcomes, depending on the treatment goal.

Confirm the exact lymphoma subtype and ask whether the biopsy needs additional marker or molecular testing. Discuss whether targeted therapy will be used alone or with chemotherapy, an antibody treatment or another approach. Bring a complete medicine list, including over-the-counter products, and report fever, infections, bruising, bowel changes and new skin symptoms. Attend planned blood tests and scans so the team can adjust care safely. Never pause a course because you feel better without first speaking with the treating team.
