How common are swollen lymph nodes in non-Hodgkin lymphoma?

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma involves lymphatic cells, so enlarged nodes may be noticed in the neck, armpit, groin or elsewhere. Some nodes cause no discomfort; others may feel like a lump or create pressure in the area. Symptoms and findings vary between people and between types of lymphoma.

Many everyday conditions can make nodes swell, including infections and inflammatory illnesses. A clinician considers the location and duration of the swelling, other symptoms, medical history and examination findings. Blood tests, imaging or a biopsy may be used to identify what is happening.
