How common are pimples in rosacea?

Rosacea-related pimples are often red bumps or pus-filled spots on the central face, especially the cheeks, nose, chin, or forehead. They may occur with flushing, burning, sensitivity, persistent redness, or visible small blood vessels. Unlike classic acne, blackheads may be absent, although people can have more than one skin condition. The pattern and accompanying symptoms matter more than one isolated spot.

Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser, and broad-spectrum sunscreen that your skin tolerates. Notice whether heat, hot drinks, spicy foods, alcohol, stress, or particular products trigger flushing, then discuss the pattern with a clinician. Book an assessment for persistent facial redness, frequent flushing, recurrent pimples, or increasing sensitivity. Seek prompt care for eye pain, light sensitivity, blurred vision, a gritty eye, marked eyelid swelling, or sudden changes around the eyes.
