Visual symptoms can include trouble bringing objects into focus, sensitivity to light, shimmering areas, zigzag patterns, or a temporary gap in the visual field. Some people experience visual changes without a headache, while others develop head pain, nausea, or sensitivity to sound. The pattern can differ from one episode to another.
