Home remedies for sinus headache

Short answer
Rest, drink fluids, use a warm compress, and rinse the nose safely; severe, unusual, or persistent headache needs medical assessment.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Understanding sinus-type head pain
Blocked or inflamed nasal passages can create pressure around the forehead, cheeks, or eyes, often alongside congestion and reduced smell. Allergic Rhinitis, a Common Cold, and Chronic Sinusitis can present with facial pressure or headache. Migraine and dehydration can feel similar, so facial pain does not by itself identify the cause. Fever, nasal discharge, and the duration of symptoms provide useful context.
Measures to try at home
Rest in a quiet room and place a comfortably warm, damp cloth over the painful area. Drink fluids regularly and avoid smoke or other nasal irritants. A saline nasal spray or rinse may help clear mucus; use sterile, distilled, or previously boiled and cooled water, and clean the device after use. Follow the label for any pain medicine and check with a pharmacist if you are pregnant, have another condition, or take regular medicines. Do not insert objects into the nose.
When to seek medical help
Get emergency help for a sudden explosive headache, weakness, confusion, fainting, a stiff neck with fever, vision loss, or trouble speaking. Arrange prompt assessment for swelling around an eye, severe one-sided facial pain, repeated vomiting, or a headache after a head injury. Fever with marked exhaustion or bleeding symptoms also needs review; Dengue Fever and Heat Exhaustion can include headache and require different care.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether the pattern fits sinus inflammation, migraine, Allergic Rhinitis, or another cause; whether you need treatment for Chronic Sinusitis; and which pain relief is suitable for you.

Questions people ask
Does facial pressure prove I have sinusitis?
No. Migraine, a cold, allergies, and dehydration can cause similar pressure or headache. The full symptom pattern matters.
Can I use a nasal rinse every day?
A saline rinse may help some people, but use safe water and clean equipment. Stop if it causes pain or bleeding and ask a clinician for advice.
